Stories set in Italy

Margaret Oliphant had a deep fondness for Italy, reflected in several of her stories and novels. Some of these have only a few scenes set in Italy, but are included because of the evocative mood set in those scenes. A Winter Journey illustrates the difficulties encountered while travelling through France and Italy to Florence in 1859.
